Note 1: The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet (aleph) is transliterated not as 'A' but is listed as 'unappreciable' in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. It is there represented by an apostrophe, and here that notation is adapted. One might obtain some idea of the sound by using the sound in the proper noun Adam, as it has come to us from the Hebrew ’aDaM (see #57 above).

Note 2: The sixteenth letter of 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet (ayin) is listed as 'peculiar' in Strong's. It is there represented by a reverse apostrophe. The proper noun Eden has come to us from ‘eDeN (not listed above). The other 20 letters of the Hebrew are represented by capital letters (or pairs like PH, and TS) here. Lower case letters represent vowel-points, which are not part of the 22 letter alphabet. All spellings are adapted from Strong's all lower case representations.

Note 3: The Hebrew word for 'heart' (LeBaB) in Deu. 6:5 can also be translated as 'mind.' Evidently this concept includes both affect and cognition. The word 'mind' does not appear in Deu. 6:5 (KJV).
